I have been a member at the Dojo since 1994. During my years of training here I have achieved all of my belts, and I gained my Black Belt 1st Dan in December 2000 at the age of 11. I then went onto achieve my Black Belt 2nd Dan 4 years later in 2004.

I have competed for the Dojo both nationally and internationally as part of their squad team for over a decade. These competitions were held in both the UK and in America where I won the Disney Martial Arts Festival in 2005.

I have been a valued part of the coaching team since 2007, teaching students from beginner level from the age of 4 all the way up to advanced levels and Black Belted students. My training now is more focused in the form of Muay Thai which I also teach.

Harris Butkeraitis

Harris first started Muay Thai at the age of 6. He started to fight at the age of 16 on various show’s sanctioned by the WMO. He was recently victorious in Thailand against a local champion and has trials later this year to become a fighter for the world renewed FAIRTEX.

Kathryn Murphy

General Manager

Upon leaving full time education, I took part in a modern apprenticeship scheme in hospitality. During this time, I learnt numerous different skills in reception and catering which lead to me qualifying as a Reception Supervisor and being multiskilled in all areas of hospitality. I continued in this role for 10 years after completing my training until I decided a change was needed. Upon leaving this role I joined The Dojo team in June 2007. Since joining the team, I have implemented a number of different processes and procedures that ensure an accurate account of students attendance for when gradings take place. I am also the friendly and welcoming face of The Dojo, both on a day to day basis as well as at the numerous competitions and demonstrations we hold. Having worked at The Dojo for over 10 years I have seen numerous students come through our doors who have completed various stages of training; with some reaching the pinnacle of achieving black belt status.

Katie

Receptionist

My time at the dojo started when my son was 5, he’s now a 14 year old black belt! So I have lots of experience being a ‘dojo mum’. So in May 2022 when a part time reception job became available, I jumped at the chance to be part of the dojo team. I’m loving my time here. I love seeing the kids start their journey and progress from being nervous about starting here to hearing them tell me all about how well they’re doing, what stickers they’ve earnt & what belt is next for them!
