I have been a member at the Dojo since 1994. During my years of training here I have achieved all of my belts, and I gained my Black Belt 1st Dan in December 2000 at the age of 11. I then went onto achieve my Black Belt 2nd Dan 4 years later in 2004.
I have competed for the Dojo both nationally and internationally as part of their squad team for over a decade. These competitions were held in both the UK and in America where I won the Disney Martial Arts Festival in 2005.
I have been a valued part of the coaching team since 2007, teaching students from beginner level from the age of 4 all the way up to advanced levels and Black Belted students. My training now is more focused in the form of Muay Thai which I also teach.

She hopes to one day become a full time Coach and further her knowledge of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Her work history took her into Sales and Marketing and together with her knowledge of Martial Arts she has the skills needed for DCS.
Upon leaving full time education, I took part in a modern apprenticeship scheme in hospitality. During this time, I learnt numerous different skills in reception and catering which lead to me qualifying as a Reception Supervisor and being multiskilled in all areas of hospitality. I continued in this role for 10 years after completing my training until I decided a change was needed. Upon leaving this role I joined The Dojo team in June 2007. Since joining the team, I have implemented a number of different processes and procedures that ensure an accurate account of students attendance for when gradings take place. I am also the friendly and welcoming face of The Dojo, both on a day to day basis as well as at the numerous competitions and demonstrations we hold. Having worked at The Dojo for over 10 years I have seen numerous students come through our doors who have completed various stages of training; with some reaching the pinnacle of achieving black belt status.

The dojo has helped Aimee-Grace become more resilient and she loves being a part of our family. She became a coach to help students be the best they can, and with her personal knowledge she feels she can help them become the best version of themselves at the dojo

Toby’s martial arts journey began at 12 years old, when he started training in Japanese Jiu Jitsu to learn self-defence. He quickly found that the discipline and focus developed on the mats has a positive impact on every area of life.
At university, Toby discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and quickly fell in love with the sport. He went on to win university national titles at both white and blue belt, but what really caught him was the community and the chance to help others grow with training. Coaching soon became the real passion after seeing how much positive change people experience when they start BJJ.
Now a purple belt under Professor Sean Coates at total in Nottingham, Toby has been training BJJ for nine years. Alongside Training, he runs a social enterprise that uses BJJ to support vulnerable groups to overcome adversity and strengthen their communities across the east midlands
Toby is excited to bring his experience and energy to Dojo Combat Sports and is looking forward to helping grow the clubs community and pursue excellence in training
Growing up in gyms and immersed in martial arts from an early age, Jermayne started out training MMA and boxing aged 11 with his father. It was during his time training in MMA that he discovered BJJ and quickly fell in love with its complexity and the mental and physical demands it requires.
Now a purple belt under the highly respected Sean Coates at Gracie Barra Nottingham, Jermayne has honed both technical skills and a unique blend of discipline, resilience, and strategic thinking.
This lifelong commitment to training is evident in his approach to coaching, where he focuses on building strong fundamentals, fostering a positive environment, and helping students of all levels achieve their personal goals.
Following on from black belt James Keay, Jermayne is ready to take the students of Gracie Barra Worksop to new levels and smash even bigger goals alongside Coach Amrick.
Whether you’re a beginner looking to start your BJJ journey or an experienced practitioner seeking to refine your skills, Jermayne is dedicated to guiding you through the sport with patience, expertise, and a genuine passion for Jiu Jitsu.
